Whamcloud Lustre Releases
Whamcloud produces feature releases and maintenance releases for Lustre:
- A feature release contains new features and bug fixes. Feature releases are suitable for sites that wish to take advantage of Lustre features as soon as possible.
- A maintenance release includes only bug fixes. Maintenance releases are suitable for sites that prefer the reassurance of a proven track record over access to the latest features.
Whamcloud produces quarterly maintenance releases for the designated Lustre maintenance release, which is currently Lustre 2.1.x.
Whamcloud will continue to provide support for the 1.8.x release until further notice and has no present plans to deprecate support for Lustre 1.8.x.
